BDPA (Black Data Processing Associates) was founded in 1975 in Philadelphia, PA and continues today to bridge the Digital Divide with its programs and services.

Programs

Career Development

The Career Development committee is tasked with providing its members and the community at large with career enhancement skills. Such projects consist of Project Management workshops, leadership training and job placement referrals.

Communications

The function of the Communications Committee is to produce our quarterly newsletter the " Connection ". It involves gathering articles, obtaining advertisements, and editing for final production. Information is obtained from both a local and national level. This committee also maintains our chapter website.

HSCC Committee

The SITES/HSCC Committee is tasked with providing our membership and our communities with both technical and non technical workshops and seminars on new technology trends as they affect us in today's society. Responsibilities also include training of our SITES and HSCC team.

Membership Services

The Membership Services is responsible for organizing and facilitating the monthly program meeting held on the 3rd Monday of every month. They seek experts from a wide range of Information Technology (IT) and non-IT backgrounds to present their topics to BDPA members and non-members alike.

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee keeps a close watch on the budget of the organization. They help the chapter maximize the use of its funds

Membership Committee

The Membership Committee keeps our membership database. They also work with various businesses to enhance our member benefits package

Local Community Programs

BDPA Triangle Chapter is making a significant impact in the community through the City-wide Technology Enrichment Program; our Collegiate Speakers Series held at local colleges and universities; the Durham Technology Expo held during black Family Technology Awareness Week; supporting the Dewayne Washington Foundation to help area high school graduates receive laptop computers and printers for college, as well as providing volunteers for Science and Technology Day at Sheppard Middle School.
